The course consists of practice-led studio work and is to be taken in combination with fashion design courses. Students explore the 3-dimensionality of garments and shape on the body and deepen their skills in expression through shape. They practice advanced garment shaping methods and explore in detail the synthesis of shape, construction and material. Students learn to transform patterns from 3D to 2D and to develop designs parallel in physical & digital space, using Clo3D software and related applications. The course assignment can be combined with the assignment of Advanced Printed Fabrics and Finishes Workshop, Advanced Knits and Knitwear Workshop and/or Advanced Workshop Project.

Learning outcomes:

• Identify their  own aesthetic approach  and strategy in 3- dimensional shaping and strengthen their own creative voice in fashion design
• Integrate advanced tools of 3D design into their creative process
• Develop patterns for garments parallel in physical & digital space by using Clo3D software and other applications.
