On 25th of May Helsinki will be filled with forward thinking textiles, fearless fashion and highly acclaimed international guests.
The Fashion Seminar, Näytös16 fashion show and Tekstiili16 textile exhibition at Kaapelitehdas join in on the discussion on what is currently interesting in fashion and textile. The events are part of Aalto Festival.
Tekstiili16 Exhibition
The Tekstiili16 exhibition showcases the high level and multifaceted textile expertise and artistry at Aalto School of Arts, Design and Architecture. The exhibition is held for the first time this spring and brings the processes of designing and producing textiles from the behind the scenes to the main stage.
Advances in the teaching content and pedagogy together with Aalto’s resources and facilities, such as working studios have brought the textile skills at Aalto ARTS to it’s internationally acknowledged status. Collaborating with the industry enables the students to design and produce remarkable and relevant interior and fashion textile collections.
Many of the experimental and innovative products are endresults of collaboration between different fields of expertise. New directions in technological advancements and research broaden the horizon of textile futures into the realm of science.
The exhibition is produced in collaboration with Suomen tekstiili ja muoti ry organization.
